The Indigo Disk, Pt. II: Coastal Biome, Savannah Biome, Canyon Biome, Polar Biome, and Elite Four (#216)

The valiant knight Don Joey and fun-loving guy Esteban Humano enter the Blueberry Academy's Terarium and it's THUNDERDOME! These are some of the toughest fights we've taken on in all our years, even if not all Elite Four members were pulling their weight (and certainly not in terms of the Elite Tests). Also, it's our penultimate episode of the season, so clear the runway for some rants!

[00:00:08] Hello and welcome to Experience Share. It's a Pokemon podcast where we play all the Pokemon games, gym by gym, week by week, and we are on the last one. And we are in that post game and we are in the post game DLC.

[00:00:22] So it's pretty late to be getting into the show, I would say. Yeah. At this point, if this is your first episode, I would hop back because you are actually, you'll soon find out kind of in the home stretch.

[00:00:36] I would, in fact, I would discourage you, new listener, from listening to this episode. Just don't listen at all. Yeah. Don't engage with the show at all. No. If you don't start at least at the beginning of a season, if not the entire show, just

[00:00:48] jumping in is frankly weird. And honestly, this isn't even a very good game. I think we had fun with it, but go listen to Arceus. That's way better. Yeah. Yeah. I think without Arceus, we really would have been struggling even more to get

[00:01:04] through this, especially when it was bookended with brilliant diamond shining shit. I think back and I'm like, what good have they done for me lately? You know? Yeah. This game is just so busted at points where I'm just like, I know people don't

[00:01:17] like to listen to us complain, but just honor us for a moment here. We've earned that. Because we all recognize that this game is like busted and it's fine. We're having fun with it. But like, it's so busted at points where it's like, how did they ship it?

[00:01:30] Like, why would they ship this? You know? Yeah. This is like trash. They shipped trash. And then I think back and I'm like, oh, brilliant pearl and shining diamond were bad too. And like, gosh, have I liked a Pokemon game recently? And then I think, oh, Arceus. Yeah.

[00:01:44] Arceus was fun. Yeah. Wedged in between all of it is a top tier Pokemon game in general. And certainly the best console release within the series is Arceus. I was reading an interview that Johto Times, if you do not subscribe to that newsletter, definitely worth it.

[00:02:04] It's a weekly or semi-weekly interviews with either fans or like people within the industry or sometimes even people who work within creatures and game freak. And for my invite, I actually think we did get invited at one point and I forgot to respond.

[00:02:20] So maybe we should follow up on that. But they they interviewed the founder of Serebii. Oh, yeah. They interviewed Joe Merrick last week. So the week of the 15th, July 15. Anyway, he speculated that part of the reason that Scarlet and Violet were so busted and

[00:02:39] that they were kind of unfixable was that they were in development during COVID entirely and that there is like a lack of coordination. Oh, that makes sense. Demotivation. Yeah. Yeah. That like totally maps because it's like it's like they're like there's a product and it

[00:02:56] works, but it's just like it all feels so like patched together. Yeah. And then I would I would also speculate that there must be I think he said in this too that, you know, a lot of the issues come down to like, well, you probably just have

[00:03:08] to like rebuild the game engine from scratch. And I suspect probably Arceus is not on. I don't know what it is, but I suspect it's not on the same engine. But if it is, it's it's also then baffling to me that it's like, why wouldn't you just

[00:03:21] keep using whatever the hell the base was for Arceus for all the other ones? The new system doesn't work. No. Fundamentally is broken at times. Yeah, it's OK. But I. We're having fun with it. I had a pretty good time in this these biomes.

[00:03:36] Oh, you had a good time in these biomes? I mean, it was a struggle, which is why I think it was good, because I think I needed we needed the challenge. It's like I can deal with. The most enraging week of Pokemon I've ever played.

[00:03:48] Janky ass graphics and everything. If like like if there is challenge to the battles and like the tests and that kind of thing. Yeah, I finally they've given us like a nice challenge like I it was hard to get through these battles. Yes.

[00:04:01] But before we get to that, you should also introduce us. I think you I don't think that you did. The hello. My name is R2, R2, Lue Tan, R2, Lue Tan, R2, Lue Tan, R2, Lue Dawn, AKA Tanner Greenring.

[00:04:17] I have some words about that Pokemon, but I'll save it so we can get this introduction out of the way. I'm joined, as always, by my co-host Fjellunculus. Reunculus? Reunculus? Reuniclus. Yeah, Reuniclus. I always add that extra. Fjelluniclus. Fjelluniclus. Fjelluniclus. Doesn't work as well.

[00:04:40] One of the only ways you can make my last name even more indecipherable. Oh, I'm sure there's plenty of ways. Yeah, you got a lot to work with with the FJ. Back to what we were talking about, Pokemon Scarlet Violet, which is the game we're playing.

[00:04:55] We are in the Indigo Disc DLC and we are deep under the sea in Blueberry Academy. Speaking of spellings, just quickly wanted to touch on where do we land with when disc ends with a K versus a C?

[00:05:11] Because I am always startled whenever I look at Indigo Disc and it's the K. I'm like a C guy, but I imagine there must be a specific reason that dictates the conjugation. Joshua genuinely never thought of it before in my life and never considered it. Never in my-

[00:05:28] Really? Like for the first time in my life, I'm realizing there's two spellings of disc. Oh, well, no wonder I've defaulted to the C ending apparently is the preferred spelling in British English and K is American English. Like, it makes sense to me.

[00:05:46] I see them both in my head like Discman is with a C, but if I was writing the word disc, I would spell it with a K. Yeah, there's a robust thread that I see on Reddit that is debating if maybe there's a

[00:05:57] nuance that disc with a K is like software, hardware. I guess it's a debate between software and hardware. We can't get into it, but anyway, I guess in America, it should be a K is what it reads as. Fine, yeah. Oh, here's one difference.

[00:06:17] A disc is a throwing object that you throw at someone or into a net. That feels like a C to me. A disc is something that is like a hardware, like a hard drive. See, that differentiation, I can live with that. I like that better.

[00:06:33] That's what Merriam-Webster says. If it's not the OED- Merriam-Webster says disc with a C is CDs and Frisbees, and disc with a K is like floppy disks and hard drives. I see. Okay. I like that, although I really only trust the Oxford English Dictionary, but I can take

[00:06:51] Merriam-Webster. So this is an indigo disc with a K, like a data disc. Yeah, which we haven't seen. I guess that's referring to the fact that we're in- It's not the disc of the- Generated reality. We're on a disc. We are on a disc.

[00:07:07] Which is what I thought it was. You're right. But then it would be a C, right? Yes. But the K also- Fuck. Yeah. So it's not the fact that we're on a disc that is the indigo disc.

[00:07:19] There must be a data disc somewhere that we have to discover. I hope so. That would get us out of this jam. And if not, it would just be one more thing on the heaping pile. They didn't bother going to Merriam-Webster.

[00:07:33] I think we can all admit that the C ending looks more elegant. The K is very aggressive. Hard. Yeah, I don't like it for that reason. Yeah, it's a hard sound. For that reason, I'm out. Joshua, we are here in the bubble. The bubble boy.

[00:07:49] You know what just occurred to me this week? It's not fully underwater. No, it's the entrance platform is above water. But isn't the top of the dome above the water? Or is that just the entrance platform? I think it's just-

[00:08:01] I'm having real hard time with the space, the geometry of this thing. I'm pretty sure it's just the- I mean, the top of the dome involves the entrance, I think. Okay, so maybe it's peeking up.

[00:08:13] If you look at it from the mini map, that's kind of what it looks like. Blueberry Academy. Although it's mining the sea floor. Images. So like- Yes, here we go. This is exactly what I wanted. This is exactly what I wanted. And how big is it?

[00:08:27] Is this like a Truman Show situation where it's like one of the largest, you know, man-made objects and you can see it from space? I found the exact image I needed to explain what we are looking at. Copy image, send to Josh. Oh yeah.

[00:08:44] So what we have here is- All right, yeah. It's like a blueberry. It's like half a blueberry. Makes sense. Buried in the mud of the ocean floor, coming almost all the way up to the surface, but not quite.

[00:08:56] And then there's a little tip on the blueberry, like where the stem would attach. That's cute, yeah. And that part is above water. So we are just underwater. We're not like 50,000 leagues under the sea.

[00:09:06] I mean, I certainly don't think it's 50,000 leagues, but I also would argue it is quite deep because think about how high the mountains are. Oh, and we are fully underwater. How deep the canyons are. We were in the Chargestone Cavern this week. I was at least.

[00:09:20] Oh yeah, I went in there. Very spooky. It's got multiple layers to it that implies like, it's giant. I got lost. I had to just fly out at one point. I was like, I gotta get to this challenge. I did too.

[00:09:30] And then couldn't find my way out of the cave. I could not. I found an area. I entered it, I think from the polar biome when I was trying to go and fight Drayton.

[00:09:42] And then I ended up over in the canyon biome because I was trapped in the Chargestone Cavern for so long. And then I found two ladders that were seemingly leading me to the surface again. And it just kept leading me to other caverns.

[00:09:53] And then I just flew out of there. I don't think anyone's ever mapped it. No, Don Joey tried. I don't think the developers even finished it. They're just like, what are we doing here? And they're like, I don't know. Just make them go forever.

[00:10:06] Yeah, like use like the Skyrim, like generative dungeon tech to just make them infinitely generous. And if they get scared or bored, they could just fly out, which is what I did. Which is what happened. And I was both scared and bored. Yeah, me too.

[00:10:20] Because there would be caverns where there were so many Pokemon jammed in it. You just can't avoid them. And I'm like trying to bolt through on my fucking Coridon. Yeah, I was like, I cannot fight any more of these Ella kids.

[00:10:37] We start our day, Joshua, in the tip of the bubble above ground. The Blueberry Academy is not down in the biome. No, it's up here in the bubble. Oh, so you went to class? Went to every class. You went to every class? Yep.

[00:10:51] Talked to every person, went to every class. Oh, wow. I didn't even go that far. I did spend some time up there. I'm a guest here, you know? I pay to go to Neurongic Academy. What I do there is my fucking business.

[00:11:04] If I don't want to go to class, so be it. Oh, interesting calculus for Esteban Umano. So you want to be you're trying to be very respectful of- I'm here as a guest. This other culture, as you called it in the last episode. Yeah.

[00:11:19] So now you're a diligent- I'm here as an honored guest, and I wouldn't do anything to damage that reputation, you know? But back at the other place, that's a fucking transaction. They're my servants. And if I don't feel like being served one day, fine.

[00:11:36] Sound like a lot of people I went to college with. It's my right to pay $50,000 a year and just literally never go to class. Yeah. Not mine. That's how I feel back at Neuronha. But here in Blueberry Academy, I go to all the classes.

[00:11:53] I meet all the perverts. Oh, yeah. Who are teaching me like jerk off hand motions and stuff. Yeah. Can we just- so you encountered my trainer danger, it sounds like. Yeah. There's some hunched over, cowering, seemingly possessed guy who's in just a classroom.

[00:12:17] I don't think it was even- it was like a normal classroom. I think it was my homeroom. He's at class. And he's just like in the corner. Oh, no. He's standing proudly, weirdly out in the middle of against the wall in this classroom.

[00:12:30] And if you go up to him, he says like, go away. Yeah. And it's like yes or no. And if you- He'll quiz you. Yeah. Say yes. You get- go down a dark line of dialogue where he says, oh, yes. So you've also received a call?

[00:12:48] And what kind of a call was it? And then it's like, if you say the darkness, which is actually what I said first, because it was like this guy's obviously like not on the level. Yeah. And he was like, ah, the darkness. Yes, darkness is good.

[00:13:01] It quenches the thirst of my pitch black soul. This is going on in the middle of a classroom that he's saying this. Like, is there a counselor at the Blueberry Academy? Because if you- if you keep drilling down, then he's like, you can feel it, right?

[00:13:16] Feel the stirring of the power in your hand there. I said right originally, and then I had to do it again. And then when I said the left hand, which is, I guess, where the trouble started. Yeah, that's- it's the sinister hand. Is the left hand more sinister?

[00:13:30] Yeah, definitely. Huh. Oh, the left hand of darkness. Oh, is it a reference to our queen, Ursula K. Le Guin? Oh, probably. Be still my left hand. That would be nice if they did that. I got the whole dialogue tree right the first time. Is that weird? Yeah.

[00:13:45] Does that make me weird? I only messed up on that last one. I was gonna ask if you always get- or if there's like a right hand option, or if you always get this emote.

[00:13:54] No, you have to do left hand to get the be still my left hand emote. I think I just got it right on the first time. This guy and I just matched up, you know? I saw him, Esteban Romano saw him.

[00:14:07] He's like, I'm like a guy just like you. We're all just guys here. Let's chat. Yeah, but I kind of thought that your guys were kind of like a more happy-go-lucky crew that wouldn't so easily succumb to the darkness. Like this boy. No, no, not all of them.

[00:14:23] Let's see. Gregor Sams is pretty dour. Yeah, good point. Always complained about being a bug. King Gambit's pretty serious. Rick Bingo. He's got a pretty fun name, but it's a serious guy. Lady Beth is kind of serious too, I would say. Like ritualistic Rick Bingo.

[00:14:40] But like Donna Baker and Fiona Eilish and Proud Avery are kind of chuckleheads. Well, we had some real like... We had a few that were maybe even partied a little too hard for us. Like Margot Pence and... Oh yeah. RIP Margot Pence. It was the Ginny...

[00:15:01] I don't even remember who the other one was. Ginny Pickles or something like that. And she got canceled, I think, for something she said on a SoundCloud rap. She was a rapper, right? Yeah, really racy stuff. Yeah. Like Doja Cat. Too filthy, you know?

[00:15:16] So what else did you learn in your classroom attendance? Oh, not much. Let's see. A lot of kind of the basic stuff about like, well, if you just pay attention, you'll notice that the Pokemon matchups mirror real life.

[00:15:32] Like what would happen if you put fire near an ice? Well, it melts. So that was helpful. Okay. Yeah, yeah. That was really helpful with my fight with Drayton. Get ahead of the matchup mayhem you might have had.

[00:15:46] Yeah, oh, I should bring a fire type into an ice battle. Interesting. Who would have thought? Write that down. I think very early on in this show, we did have a debate about that. I think one of your earliest matchup mayhems was about how

[00:16:01] you couldn't believe that fire was super effective on ice. If you spray ice out of fire, what's going to happen? Well, I don't... Fire is going to go out. Spray ice because, oh, because you're arguing that it will melt in route and then put out the fire.

[00:16:18] Turn the water and put out the fire. Don't you think? Right. But if you're trying to break down something that is innately ice, then fire's trouble because you're not like a fluid.

[00:16:31] I guess what I say is true of a lot of things, though, because it's like if you spray bugs at a rock for long enough, the rock will eventually erode. Well, bug is not super effective on rock. Well, I know, but like...

[00:16:46] Oh, but yeah, I mean, you're right. If you were just spraying bugs at a rock for... Fire hose of bugs. Like a bug gun. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, that's true. All right. Okay. Where are we? We've got these Elite Four to tackle.

[00:16:58] So we're going through all the business here. We're kind of meeting everybody. It turns out that it's not just Carmine who thinks Drayton's sort of... Everyone hates Drayton. Yeah. We're being shown around by Drayton, and everyone's constantly needling Drayton. No one trusts him.

[00:17:16] He's in bad standing at the school. He has bad credit with the school. Everyone's always talking about how he's going to get... If he doesn't start taking this seriously, he's going to get kicked out of BB League, BBL. He sounds like Esteban Umano at Naranja.

[00:17:31] He's the you here. But he's like our guy. He's showing us around, you know? Somehow he's taking us under his wing. So I feel like... I don't know. Am I supposed to be on his side or everyone else's side? Because no one seems to trust this guy.

[00:17:44] I do think his outfit's dumb, but I don't really get the hate. He grew on me a bit on this slag. It's nice and endearing that he says, yo, champ in the making. Like the throwback to the gym guys in the earlier games who would always say,

[00:18:00] yo, champ in the making. Oh, yeah. I like that he believes in us, you know? It's like all these other people are shitting all over Drayton, but he's pumping us up. He wants us to succeed. Yeah.

[00:18:13] When you go to fight him, you have to pay 50 BPs to do these Elite Four battles. BBQs, yeah. Which you unlock by doing BBQs. These BBLs. Excuse me? To do the BBLs, you have to do BBQs to unlock BPs and pay 50 BPs to do the BBL. Yes.

[00:18:34] Okay, Blueberry League. Yeah. I was like, excuse me? I don't even know if that's a reference, if there's some weird sex joke that you were also making, but I wouldn't put it past you. A BBL is a Brazilian butt lift. There you go.

[00:18:46] That's why I was like, there's something raunchy about it. Yeah. But you do have to pay 50 coins to do a BBL battle. And he waves it. Drayton waves it, and the guy's like, no, you can't really do that, Drayton.

[00:18:58] And then Drayton's like, fine, take it out on my account. And Drayton's like, yeah, I'll just pay it. I'm good for it. Yeah. When that happened, I was like, well, doing all these BBQs is not a good use of time. You get a huge surplus quickly.

[00:19:14] Oh my God. The BBQs thing is a fun idea. Yeah, it is. Run around and do cool little things, except there's four of them, and they're all so stupid. It's like, run 500 yards. And it's like, OK, I'm just going to do that. It's like catch a Pokemon.

[00:19:30] It's like, OK, I'm just going to do that. Right. Make them hard. It's all behaviors that you would naturally do. Like even after it has a scale and you can level up to get different tasks.

[00:19:41] But even once you do that, then they throw in like, OK, pick up 10 things on the ground or fight a wild terrestrialized Pokemon. It's like, I do all these things. At some point, Cyrano, like Rotom phones you and he's like, hey, I'm going to make your

[00:19:55] BBQs a lot harder. Right. And then it's like, have a battle with a Terra Pokemon. The only one that caused me momentary strife was the take a photo of a swimming Pokemon.

[00:20:07] And that one only triggers, I found out the hard way, for a non-water type that is in the water. That's not true. It didn't count when I was taking a photo of a Lapras. Well, how? Really? Yeah.

[00:20:18] I think every time I did that one, I got a picture of a water Pokemon. Photo of a Lapras in the water is a classic Pokemon snap. Maybe not. I don't remember. Well, in any case, I definitely got that one.

[00:20:29] There's something funky going on with that, but that is in the right direction. They should have been quests that were more like make me do something where I had to go out of my way. If you're going to have these at all.

[00:20:38] Yeah, or like unique, like maybe there's like 20 unique quests in each of these biomes, you know, and that's just like those are the BBQs. That would have worked. And then some of these like repeatables, so you don't get stuck. But whatever.

[00:20:50] The other part that you have to do prior to doing the battles with the Elite Four is they each have an elite test. Yes. So there's four biomes. There's four tests and there's four trainers. And I think we should rank these tests. Oh yeah.

[00:21:02] Because some of these Elite Four members, these BBL Elite Four members have really done a very good job with their elite test. Some. And some of them have done a very poor job. Yeah, some phoned it in. Okay, I can easily rank them. Yes, let's hear it.

[00:21:17] Let's tell me about the four gym leaders and their tests first briefly. Okay, well, I'll do it in the order I did them, which I guess, I don't know for me naturally, I did Coastal Biome first because we were already there. Yeah, I did too.

[00:21:30] So Coastal Biome is Elite Four Lacey. That was Lacey. The girly. But we've already met. Yeah. She was the one who Cyrano dumped us off on at the beginning. Right. And her quiz is a Pokemon knowledge, like trivia. Very easy. Possibly easy.

[00:21:46] So my thought on this one was like, that could be cute. Like that could be a good idea. Or rather, the execution was cute. Like you go out into the wilderness and then she brings out Pokemon and then asks you questions about them.

[00:22:00] And you have to touch the Pokemon. Yeah, you have to like indicate. The answer is. Yeah, like one of them is like, where does Pikachu store its electricity? And it's obviously red cheeks. I mean, not idiot. And you poke him in his little cheeks.

[00:22:12] But the flaw is that I do not think you can fail and they should have just set it up where it's like, get the majority right. Like allow us to fail. And then also like redoing it, it should have a different set of questions.

[00:22:25] But in this case, I did get one wrong and then I got it right immediately. But it was the question of like. Which one? How does Venonat navigate? Oh yeah, I knew this was a trick. Of course, I was like antenna.

[00:22:38] I went for the antenna and honestly it wouldn't let me click the antenna at first. And I was like, oh, I guess that's not an option. And then I clicked eye. And that's right. I was like, they're going to definitely this is a trick. Right.

[00:22:48] But so I got it wrong. I said antennae and then she was like, give it another shot. And then I just went for eyes because she hinted that it was like the biggest thing on its body.

[00:22:56] And I was like, well, the biggest thing on its body is its body. Yeah. But I guess the eyes then. It's epidermis. But yeah. Well, we got a new slug scientist in town. But anyway, so that one is not great because of that.

[00:23:13] The fact that you cannot fail it, I think. Yeah, that's not great. So her team is all. Oh, fairy type. Now her team is a totally separate thing because this was the hardest battle that I did and they were all to some extent not easy.

[00:23:31] She knocked me out. Wait, wasn't there? There's always like a dude outside of the plazas who's like really tough to. Yeah, I think I fought all of them too. And they also took out. I do not.

[00:23:44] I don't have them open right now, so I don't know what they had. But each of each of the plazas does have sort of like a deputy who you can fight. You don't have to. I did try to get some fucking levels here. Of course.

[00:23:56] But but they were like, they knocked a few of my Pokemon out to. And this Lacey battle really revealed to me that I have a big I had a big fairy weakness problem. I think the openers were Granbull and Whimsicott, and then she has Primarina, Slowbro, the Galarian

[00:24:13] form. Yeah, and all creamy and then Excadrill and Fairy Terra Excadrill. By the time I'd made it to Excadrill, she had an Alcremie and Excadrill because they're all double battles. And I had kept Claude Sire alive the whole time because he was the only one who had poison

[00:24:33] jab, which is not even a very strong poison move, but it's physical. And the only thing I had that was like for sure super effective. Yeah, but he had died and I'd resurrected him multiple times in particular because of the Slowbro and it's psychic.

[00:24:49] But I was down to Claude Sire and Cyril Edge when I got to her Excadrill and Alcremie. And then the Excadrill does Terra form and it becomes fairy. So then Cyril Edge didn't have an edge on it anymore, and then it just started fucking

[00:25:06] high horsepowering and killed Cyril Edge. And then it just did Terra Blast on Claude Sire enough times that like I literally could not resurrect enough of my team and they just died and I whited out. She got me. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Your first elite four battle.

[00:25:25] Yeah, I was like, oh shit, did we really like make a mistake saying we're going to do all four of these in a week? I taught Cyril Edge poison jab and once I was able to have two Pokemon with poison. Yeah, I could do it.

[00:25:37] But it was still like I think she got me back down to just Claude Sire in the end. And I but I did pull it off. I was like, oh, this is actually going to be like a nightmare.

[00:25:46] And my levels, what are their levels are all pretty like. Like the high mid to upper 70s. And like low 80s. Yeah, so I was there like we were toe to toe at the time. How did you do against Lacy? Absolutely fine. No issues.

[00:26:03] Rick Bingo, Proud Avery, tons of steel moves. Managed to get through her no problem. Yeah, my problem was that my skill attacker also is very Tinkerton and. She just was not that useful. I think it was honestly mostly Proud Avery got me through the whole battle because I

[00:26:24] think King Gammon knows a steel move. Maybe Armor Rouge knows a steel move, too. But Golden Goat knows a few. So it was easy. Golden Goat. Golden Goat. Let's talk about her team because her whole thing is that her Pokemon are cute. And I strongly disagree.

[00:26:41] Like one of the questions is about how cute Granbull's tummy is and how cute her. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's the other problem with the quiz is that the final question is subjective.

[00:26:49] It's like, where do I rest my head on Granbull when I want to take a little nap? And I obviously said, very easy. Where else would you tell me? I wonder if there's a wrong answer. Yeah, we should have tried that out.

[00:27:03] I'm going to rest on the big the big fucking jowls. One of them is like a cup and cup and ball with the minimites or whatever they're called. Minior. Miniors. Miniors are cute. No, they're not. I think I've called them a sweetie before. Miniors are not cute.

[00:27:17] Sinistee is not ugly, but it's not like. It's not so sweet that I would sweetie certify. It's not cute, but it's not ugly. Granbull too. I don't think Granbull's like anything special. Venonat's not cute. I think Venonat is kind of cute. It's again like they're all hovering.

[00:27:34] Like I think Minior and then obviously Pikachu are sweeties, but everyone else is like hovering. Who's on her actual team? Her actual team. Whimsy Scott. That's cute. Primarina. No. Alcremie's cute. Yeah, but I don't like the implications of Alcremie because of the implications.

[00:27:51] Scalarian Slowbro's not and nor is Excadrill. Excadrill ugly. Yeah. Cool, but like no. Primarina, no. No. Yeah, she's bad at it. The majority of her team and the quiz Pokemon are not cute. Yeah, she's bad at her like one mission. They're not sweeties. Fail.

[00:28:08] You failed against my team and you failed making a cute team and you failed putting together a cute picture that we all took together. Fuck you, Lacey. We're up next. I didn't go to the polar biome next. You went to the polar biome next?

[00:28:21] Yeah, I was just doing it counterclockwise, I guess. That's not... Doesn't make any sense, but that's how I did it. I mean, that's Drayton. We can save that for last because he's like kind of the big boss. I did Crispin next.

[00:28:34] Yeah, so I did Crispin last, the Savannah biome. Good quiz. Fun quiz, I thought. Crispin is the best. Number one. Crispin in general, he's great. Crispin's elite test is number one. And his attitude's great.

[00:28:48] When you battle him, he's like, I know you got this messy history with Kieran and everybody knows about this breakup, I guess. Seems like everyone does. I know all these people have the tension with Drayton and it's like, I just think everyone

[00:29:01] should say what they think and just figure it out. Just living out loud. Crispin's a straight talker and looks cool. And also another beautiful androgynous boy. Yeah, great look. Great cook, I think too. And a great cook and taught me how to be a great cook.

[00:29:18] Yeah, Crispin's test is you need to make a super spicy sandwich. Do you see my sandwich? I put the image in. Do you see my sandwich in the notes? Oh yeah. And a tasty Esteban Umano original.

[00:29:30] I think that your jalapenos are laid out better than mine were, but it was pretty similar. Although I failed at once. I don't know why they didn't let you rotate the sausages. Yeah, I hate that you cannot rotate the sausages because they all just end up...

[00:29:45] You have to use chorizo sticking out and they all just stick out the sides instead of like hot dog style. They're like laid out like hamburger style, which doesn't make any sense. So Crispin, you're supposed to go get these ingredients to make Crispin the spiciest sandwich

[00:29:59] possible, and then it lets you do it and you get to see your sandwich and it's ugly. But Crispin likes it. So yeah. And the way you do the elite test is you go around to all these trainers who have ingredients

[00:30:11] and you have to battle them or trade them to get the ingredients you want. Yeah, they're not all spicy ingredients. So like you have to get mayonnaise here to go like trade for potato salad here to go

[00:30:21] trade for like vinegar here to go trade for pickles or whatever. And you're battling the entire way. It's fun. Yeah, fun. Good one. Good one. Very good, Crispin. That's my number one. I liked it. That's my number one as well. I should say.

[00:30:34] Yeah, Crispin should have been hard, but was easy. Crispin is a fire type. They're always done dirty. Fire type gym leaders and elite four are never that great. I would say I think he's in the upper echelon of the fire trainers that I fought.

[00:30:52] Talonflame, Stove Rotom, Camerupt, Magmortar, Executor, and then Fire Terra Blaziken. Yeah, pretty good team. The Executor was the only one that caused me trouble just because it had been set up by Talonflame with Sunny Day and then it would just shoot popping off solar beams. Oh, yeah.

[00:31:11] And then it was holding a citrus berry and then its ability was Harvest. And then Harvest allows it to create another berry after one is used. And it just kept yanking citrus berries and it just kept surviving.

[00:31:28] And like the camp, it was out with the Camerupt and the Camerupt killed my Bax Caliber before I could get one crunch in that probably would have killed it. Even though I had converted my Bax Caliber into its Terraform, which is dark.

[00:31:42] So I was being strategic and I thought it was going to live long enough. It did survive a few rounds, but like, I mean, I beat him, but like the Executor caused me trouble.

[00:31:51] And by the time I got to Blaziken, it was again like that thing fucking like one hit whatever one of my Pokemon was and I was down to like two again. Joshua, these are tough. You were not struggling with these battles. My levels are higher than yours, too.

[00:32:05] The only one I struggled with was Drayton. Wow. I mean, like, yeah, they peeled off Pokemon, but well, I didn't white out. I mean, it was one shot, but I have Wellspring Ogre Pond, which is definitely makes it a lot easier. I have no water.

[00:32:19] Mythical and whatever and also water and has like a million hit points and super high defense. My type spread is weird. So like Fiona Eilish can sit and like take some hits.

[00:32:29] And then once I pop off her terror type is water when she has the wellspring mask on. So I just had to terrestrialize her and then do the fucking terror blast, which is water type. And it just like tore through their team. Yeah.

[00:32:41] Crispin is best test, not best battle. I mean, my hardest battle, I guess, already was revealed. It was Lacey. But she has well, I wouldn't say she necessarily has the worst test, but it's I would say the third worst. I just got the worst test.

[00:32:58] The next one, Amorous. Yeah, Amorous, Amorous. I don't like Amorous whole attitude, frankly, the lead for Canyon Bio. You know what? She's bottom of my list in every category. She was the easiest one for me to be. Yeah, me too.

[00:33:12] Her elite test is just flying around through some rings on Corridon. And it's like you couldn't screw it up if you tried to know. And she goes into this long explanation of it that's like, well, if you need to get more

[00:33:24] time, then you need to go through the Magnemite rings. And so I thought that and this is logically how it should be done, I would say there is going to be two different types of rings. And some are the goals that you need to hit.

[00:33:36] And then if you're running out of time, then you need to go to a different one to get to Magnemite. So you should have to calculate. Do I have enough time to just do a one shot or am I going to have to bolster my time?

[00:33:46] But it's both. Every ring is both. It gives every ring three more seconds and also checks off the box of making it to the goal. So this was so easy. Yeah, you just got to make it through the rings. And then her team is all steel type.

[00:33:58] And she's just got like a bad attitude, like she's a Debbie Downer. She's like a serious, like by the books, like timekeeper. I never would have let you into this league. Like you're an outsider. Shouldn't be allowed. Her like glasses keep fogging up. What's your deal with Kieran?

[00:34:18] Like what is your intention with Kieran? She always holds her arms straight at her sides. Yeah. Like she's a robot. Yeah, she's weird. And her team is Steve. Alone. Doug trio, Skarmory, Empolion, Reuniclus, Reuniclus, Scyzor and Steel Metagross. Steel Terra Metagross. Yeah.

[00:34:38] And if you have a fire type Pokemon on your team, it makes it a lot easier. I did have to resurrect it once because Doug trio got it. But Cyril Edge tore through this because Bitter Blade is fire and that it also restores 50% of whatever the damage was.

[00:34:51] So like. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Ameris was nothing. This one I had like, I think four Pokemon still standing by the end. So that was like clearly the easiest. Yeah. I will compliment like in general if they are going to do, you know, monotype trainers,

[00:35:08] like they were clever where there's always like one wild card like Reuniclus in this case. Yeah. And they all have great items. They have great held items. And it does always throw off your whole strategy.

[00:35:19] Like I've got fucking armor Rouge out there and then all of a sudden like armor is useless against like Doug trio, you know? Right. And that's what happened with me with Cyril Edge as well. But they're all double battles, too. So it's like, I don't know.

[00:35:30] It sort of takes the edge off a little bit because it's like, yeah, armor Rouge is weak against Doug trio. But like Wellspring Ogre Pond's not who's also out because she knows close combat. Some of like the better battlers were clever with their double battles.

[00:35:46] Like I said, the sunny day boosting executor was great. And then like Ella Creamy had this move decorate that pumped up the excadrill. And then that yeah, that's why excadrill was like unhinged. But she didn't do any of that happened to me. Maris didn't do anything.

[00:36:00] I was just getting through her Pokemon too quickly to like quit and throw their Pokemon too quickly for them to set up these like cool double battle moves. Let's go to the last thing that happened to me, Joshua. After this break. That was good. You got me.

[00:36:20] Joshua, welcome back. But catchers, welcome back. We are here in the Blueberry Academy terrarium underwater terrarium terrestrium where they got terrarium restroom. They call it a terrarium and I think they spell it wrong too. Because terrarium should have three hours.

[00:36:37] We've taken out three of the four elite for we have one left whose name is Drayton. He's our friend. I saved him for last because I'm courteous and because he is my friend. Oh, it's Terra with only the one are in the Terra because it's Terra still icing.

[00:36:55] Got it. Yeah. OK, I take it back. I was courteous and saved him for last. And I also thought, oh, he's like, what is he ice type? That'll be easy. It's not. He's dragon. It's fine. Yeah, he's dragon. He's not the problem.

[00:37:08] I mean, he was a problem for me. He was tough. The problem is I showed up for his league test. And they said, oh, you have to do battle with these three dudes. And I was like, great, that's easy.

[00:37:20] And they're like, but the problem is you have to do it with just Pokemon you've caught here in the terrarium. Right. And I was like, well, that's a problem because I haven't caught any Pokemon here in the terrarium. Oh. So I guess I'll get to fucking work.

[00:37:31] I had been catching them casually. So I had a grab bag. It was the last thing I was going to do last night before bed. I was like, great. And then I get there and I'm like, OK, well, I guess I'll start building a new little team.

[00:37:40] So I go out and I start doing raid dens. I'm going for only five star raid dens. Seemingly a smart move. Because they're like level 70 or level 75 coming out of them. And whatever, I can just get some, like I can build up a pretty strong team really quickly.

[00:37:53] So I do that. I go out and I start raiding. And I build up a team. And I go to battle the trainers that Drayton has left out for me who will only accept battles with terrarium Pokemon. Right.

[00:38:05] And you also don't even know how many Pokemon they're going to have. So you're like, how many people do I need? How many Pokemon do I need on this team? Oh, yeah. Or people, I guess.

[00:38:13] Well, roughly, I was like, I guess I should get them up to like 70 to 75. And like, I'm trying to catch them around there. So it's not that hard. Maybe I can get them up to like 80. I don't know. Yeah.

[00:38:22] So I was like, OK, I'll do a little training along the way. Let me tell you about the team I brought into that battle in level check. Level check. A cow. Tauros, level 77. Metal Pole. Duraludon, level 75. Some Armor. Golurk, level 76. Hard Bug. Scizor, level 79. Gooey Baby. Reuniclus, level 75.

[00:38:50] And Dollop. Alcremie, level 75. And I had some experienced candies and rare candies that I like fed to kind of boost them up. Can I just ask one quick question? Yeah. In regards to the team and the canon, the world that Esteban Umano is operating in,

[00:39:06] should they not have people names? Well, they're not people. OK. This is a temporary arrangement. I have, Esteban Umano has zero interest in this or these Pokemon. OK. These are not people. OK. Maybe Gooey Baby, but right now he's just a Gooey Baby. All right. Continue.

[00:39:21] I approached his trainers for his elite test and they say, sorry, we only battle people with Pokemon caught in the terrarium. And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, whole team. Whole team is caught in the terrarium and none of them would battle me

[00:39:34] because I guess they were caught in the raid battles? Raid dens? That's an absurd. In the terrarium? Yeah, that's an absurd disqualification to not count raid battle Pokemon in the terrarium. Like why? So that was like a smart move, but they're not rewarding it.

[00:39:51] And I can't really think of what the calculus is for why. Plan B, Joshua. Like what's the context there? We exist. Throw out this team. Get back out there. Chop wood, carry water. You know, that's the key to enlightenment. Yeah.

[00:40:06] And what do you do after you're enlightened, Joshua? You chop wood, carry water. You just got to do the work sometimes. So I went out there. I found every fucking glittering terra Pokemon I could. I was crawling up every mountain looking for the little glittering terra Pokemon

[00:40:20] and I would dive down on them and capture them. You just wanted to have freaky terra Pokemon for some reason. No, they're usually stronger. They're usually higher level. Whoa, yeah. Easier to train. So let me tell you about the team I brought into the battle and level check.

[00:40:35] Okay. Some dumb bird. Hey, two cannon. Level 63. It's a handsome bird. Corny dragon, Flygon, level 66. Jeff Bunko. This guy's a guy. Jeff Bunko. Jeff Bunko. I like Jeff Bunko. Hitmontop, level 67. I got to say, I kind of like Hitmontop. Yeah. Kind of fun. Kind of cute.

[00:40:58] Junk drawer, Magneton, level 73. Barb Samsa. Oh. We met Barb Samsa for a little while. Who came onto the team and helped out. Rabska, level 69. Well, that's good for Gregor. They're very happy together. Yeah, I guess it's... I didn't get the relation. Oh. Maybe sister or aunt or something.

[00:41:17] Oh, oh, okay. Who also got the bug thing. I guess I don't hope they're happy together. That would be... Yeah. Very strange on a number of levels. Gooeybaby2, Reuniclus, level 77. I got another one. I ran one of those as well.

[00:41:30] That's the team I brought into the battle and then it was incredibly easy. Yeah, I think that we both... Although I did not have a team that got rejected on top of it. But I think we both over prepared because they each...

[00:41:41] It is three battles, but each of them only has two Pokemon. Level 68. And they give away... They like make some coy comment before you go into the battle that reveals like, you know, what type of Pokemon they're going to have so you can restack the deck.

[00:41:55] Yeah, there's a rock type who has a Rampardos and a Bastiodon. Bastiodon. Yeah. Both very easy. The other one has a Alolan Sandslash and a Dewgong. And then the other one Zebstrika and Magnezone.

[00:42:10] So I did all that fucking work, got build up two whole teams for these fucking chucklefucks and then easily beat them. Yeah. And then you get to Drayton and he doesn't even give a shit. I gotta say what my Pokemon are.

[00:42:19] He doesn't even give a shit if you use those teams. He's like, you want to go straight out for your old team? You can. Oh yeah. Fucking dickhead. I would rank this test as number two because I think it was clever

[00:42:30] and it makes you do some amount of hustle. I used Pokemon that you probably hadn't been using in the game, even if I did end up using several Pokemon I have run before, which was Vileplume, Metagross, Reuniclus, Duraludon, Eelektross and Toucanon. Oh yeah.

[00:42:47] So I've run everyone on that team at some point, actually. Yeah, yeah. But I just picked from the grab bag. I guess I had been catching Pokemon I like, so that kind of worked out. I just picked from what I already had.

[00:42:59] And then I did have to do like, I had to use a Thunderstone on Elektrik and I had to use a Leaf Stone to get Vileplume and, you know, used Rare Candy. But I had enough candies sitting around that I didn't have to battle with them.

[00:43:13] I just pumped them all up and I assumed like high 60s or low 70s would probably be good, which it was. Yeah, me too. Although I trained the first team up.

[00:43:22] I used all my Rare Candies on that first team because I thought I was going to have to battle Drayton too. That sucks. Yeah. But whatever, it worked. I hedged in the hope that they let you choose whether or not you're ready to battle them after the test.

[00:43:36] So I was like, well, if he's going to lock me in with this team, then I will go and train them more. But yeah, he lets you just swap in your actual team. So it sort of diminishes the challenge. Although he was still fucking tough. Oh my God.

[00:43:51] He almost ended me so many times. It was one of those, like I am desperately reviving, trying to hold on between turns while his guys are knocking me out. Yeah, when you were texting me today, you didn't even know if you were going to pull

[00:44:07] it off before the record. But I finally did it. It was a brutal battle. He had a counter for almost every single one of my Pokemon. The only one who could go in and reliably take hits was Fiona Eilish, who I would send

[00:44:20] in so I could revive a few Pokemon and get them healed up and send them back out to like maybe get a hit off before they're one hitted. Yeah. So his specialty is dragons and the Sceptile is the wild card in this case, but it's got

[00:44:34] Dragon Cheer, a new move. Oh yeah. That pumps up its ally and it pumps them up even more if they're dragon type. So Sceptile, I forget who it was out with, but it was pumping up all these Pokemon.

[00:44:46] Yeah, until and then I just was like, I got to just kill a fucking Sceptile. Like this is getting out of hand. What else Sceptile had? Sceptile had a fucking weakness. Play weakness policy.

[00:44:56] Yeah, weakness policy, which is fucking sucked because I was like, oh, this idiot sent in a Sceptile like say hello to Lady Beth armor Rouge, right? And like blasted it with fire arm cannon and it's like boosted it a thousand percent.

[00:45:08] Yeah, it lived through Bitter Blade as well. And then it was all pumped up and then it was lashing out with like Leaf Storm against whoever my other Pokemon was. It took out one or two. Yeah.

[00:45:19] As a result of like its direct attacks and Dragon Cheering the ally. And like a few of them know Earthquake, Flygon knows Earthquake. Earthquake always sucks. Yeah. And like Flygon. Flygon was out with Dragonite. So like it wasn't hitting Dragonite. That was a brutal opener, Dragonite and Flygon.

[00:45:35] Dragonite knew Ice Spinner, which was like super effective against like fucking everything on my team for some reason. Yeah. And my issue was that I had like, you know, Tinkerton. Great. Good setup for this fairy, but also steel and Haxorus and Flygon both have Earthquake.

[00:45:54] So like once Flygon was off the board, then I brought Tinkerton in. I was like, great now she's safe. But then fucking Haxorus took it out with Earthquake. Yeah, brutal. And then he's got he's got a Kingdra and then he's got an Archeludon,

[00:46:09] which is Joshi's You Make Me Barf Pokemon of the Week. Oh. I love Duraludon and I actually didn't even know about this evolution. I didn't either. Because I would have evolved my Duraludon, I guess if I had known this. Is it new?

[00:46:27] It's new and I don't like it. And I don't think it makes sense that a skyscraper Pokemon would evolve into a bridge. Bridge. Why? That's a is that not a downgrade? Yeah, that is confusing. I guess it depends on who you ask.

[00:46:45] Like maybe it's more impressive for like engineers. A bridge is more impressive than a skyscraper. I guess that's true. I did read David McCullough's excellent book, The Great Bridge, which is about the history of the Brooklyn Bridge. Fascinating 600 pages.

[00:47:00] He doesn't even get into the building of the bridge until like page 180 and the rest of it is like politics. But understanding how they built the Brooklyn Bridge actually made me really understand how insane bridges are,

[00:47:12] and especially that that was built over like 12 years in the 19th century. And yet you have no appreciation for Archeludon. Okay, so maybe, okay, maybe I'm talking myself into understanding that a bridge is more impressive. I didn't like him either.

[00:47:26] At least from time to time than a skyscraper. But this design, I just do not like it. How about that? I just don't like it. Although. Yeah, that's fine. When it used God, what did it pop off? It popped off an electro shot.

[00:47:41] And when it got down on all fours to make it actually look like a suspension bridge. That was cool. All of its like the spires like lit up and then it like charge shot. Yeah, that's cute. Yeah, yeah.

[00:47:54] I forgot to mention my you make me barf Pokemon, but I was in the Savannah biome and you make me barf. I've mentioned before, but it's sort of I saw it new. I saw it like a kind of fresh eyes. Smeargle is so big.

[00:48:13] Is that what it's called? Smeargle? Yeah, which I think you have barfed on before. That artistic dog. Yeah, it's an ugly bad Pokemon. It's a bad ugly Pokemon, but it's fucking huge. The size of like a Snorlax. They're big.

[00:48:28] Okay, it was not the size of a Snorlax, but it is unsettlingly large in the overworld. I don't like how big they made them. What is it? Volvapedia says they are. They're only supposed to be three foot eleven. They screwed up. They look bigger than that.

[00:48:42] Maybe you saw a really big one. They're big because they can't be bigger or smaller. I saw about a thousand really big ones because I was just training in that area. Yeah, trying to get two cannon to kill all the fly guns I could find.

[00:48:53] Well, speaking of two cannon, I will reveal what Don Joey's team was going up against Drayton because we're still technically in the level check. Oh yeah, let's talk about our teams that we brought into the final battle. Earl Jangles was the one who was like the brutality,

[00:49:11] like absolute fatality in the battle with Lacey. And he got so fucked up that a number of his famous Jangly scales for which he got his name. Yeah. A number of them got knocked off. Oh no. In the battle with Lacey.

[00:49:25] And now to restore his honor, he had to sally forth and go find them. I mean, he is a dragon if we forget and like kind of as a thing for shiny objects.

[00:49:36] Like, you know, he feels like his horde has been dishonored and now he needs to like rebuild it. Yeah. So Earl Jangles wandered off. I don't know if he's gone for good, but he's doing kind of a smug thing.

[00:49:49] I hope so, because it wasn't really didn't really make sense to have a dragon on your team of knights. Yeah, I mean, we got back caliber, but like he had a he's a sort of honorable. He had an honorable quest and he has a sword in him.

[00:50:02] He found, you know, the honor within himself. I think of him more as a sword than a dragon. So Earl Jangles is out, Como-O. And one of the rabble that we had brought together to fight Drayton's supplicants

[00:50:17] proved himself so worthy of the cause that we've knighted a new member of Don Joey's crew. Who's that? Man, it's French. I got to give it a shot. A French Pokemon? Let me guess. His name is Smiragle. His name is Poudrefeu. Two cannon level 82.

[00:50:40] You just have a two cannon on your team now. I got a two cannon. We need some artillery. Fine. Got to have some artillery. What's two cannon? Flying normal? Yes. That's so bizarre. I don't think it is. You know me well enough.

[00:50:51] This is an artillery stand in where he's got beak blast and then I put the. Yeah, you're like a gun nut. You're all your favorite Pokemons are guns. The reason I like this type of a Pokemon. You should move up here.

[00:51:04] There's a lot of gun nuts up here. Colton is right up here. I'm not doing that. I shan't be doing that. The reason that I like artillery and two cannon is and X-Plowed.

[00:51:14] The reason for that is all that they learn moves that are based on like the anatomy of the Pokemon and make them unexpected. They gives them unexpected move sets. So despite normal flying being very boring or artillery just being water and normal for

[00:51:30] X-Plowed, two cannon learns like it's got aside from the signature beak blast, which I love, but then it's got bullet seed and then it's got rock blast gives me grass and rock coverage, which I didn't have. Plus flying I didn't have. Yeah.

[00:51:47] And then also facade for fun to take advantage of normal stab. And then the fact that I was getting burned by like Will-O-Wisp, you know, and that kind of shit. So two cannon was great. And I put the loaded dice item as his held item.

[00:52:01] If you've encountered that. What's that one? It makes any Pokemon that has moves like that can attack two to five times. Oh, the one that does all five. And loaded dice gives you biased RNG.

[00:52:13] So basically, every time I was using bullet seed or rock blast, he was hitting them like four or five times. So then that gets it in the area of doing, you know, 100 damage. So great. That's nice. Komo-O was redundant for a variety of reasons.

[00:52:28] I already have a fighting Pokemon and I already have a dragon type. So really not that useful. Yeah. But then I'll just rattle the rest of them off. The Duke, Pommat level 89. Dame Trish of Lavencia, Tinkertun level 87. Baron Claude Sire, the Claude Sire MVP.

[00:52:46] I mean, just was out there all the time and is level 91. It's a good Pokemon. It's fine. It's not like a big damage. Anyone's ever gotten a Claude Sire to level 91 before? I don't know. I've never heard of it.

[00:53:00] We actually before our final episode of the season and battle next week, I kind of want to see like how many of these Pokemon are actually like used competitively. I would be curious because Claude Sire is just like a tank. It's got almost 400 hit points.

[00:53:13] Maybe it actually isn't 400 now. But Cyrill just use the type combo makes it tough to deal with. It doesn't do a ton of damage, but it sits out for so long and I have leftovers on it

[00:53:24] too that like, yeah, it just sets up a lot of shit and like, you know, chips away at them. And he was out in every single one of these battles. So and then we have Viscount Arthur, Baxcalibur level 89 and Esbern, Cyrill edge level 87. So there you go. Wow.

[00:53:40] What a team getting really high up. We're certainly going to set the record on levels for this whole show for us here. My team has not changed. I mean, other than the fact that I built two new teams, but I have finally caught up with you in levels.

[00:53:52] Rick Bingo King Gambit level 89. Donna Baker, Meowth, Skirata level 88. Caught her up. Fiona Eilish, Whalespring, Ogre Pawn level 88. Proud Avery, Goldengo level 89. Gregor Samsa, Rapsca level 91 and Ladybeth, Armor Rouge level 89. I did finally fuck with their moves this week because like, Rapsca had this move called

[00:54:19] Resurrection Wish or something like that, that like I never once learned how to use or never once did. So I was just like, I got to save over this with something. Yeah. Toxic Spikes.

[00:54:30] Just go to the TM store and say, how many toxic spikes TMS can you sell? You know how much you love that? It's like your favorite move. Yeah. Someone used spikes on me this week and I was like, I think it was amorous. I think somebody had spikes.

[00:54:43] Yeah, that's my move, lady. And after we take down Drayton, look who shows up, but it's Kiki. And he's taunting us. He says, oh, it took you long enough. It's like a real asshole now. I mean, I know it's our fault. His hair looks stupid. He looks stupid.

[00:55:01] You look stupid now, Kieran. Even if I were attracted to you at one point, I'm not anymore. At least he had like this sweet little like innocent look back in Kitakami and now he's like trying to put on this tough mask face. He looks stupid. But it's toxic.

[00:55:17] I haven't changed a bit. I mean, I am an entirely new outfit because I respect the culture here and I'll wear their little Sailor Moon outfit. Yeah. But otherwise, I'm still the same Esteban Humano I've always been. Same group of bros.

[00:55:32] Oh, Don Joey's attitude never changes, you know, like ups and downs. I guess we're going to have to take on this prick next week, huh? But he's still level, still on the level. Yeah, Kiki is our final battle next week. What else are we doing?

[00:55:47] We will take him on and we will find whatever the hidden treasure of Area Zero is. This whole thing, I think, culminates back in Area Zero. So we will do this is it. Next episode is the last episode of Scarlet and Violet.

[00:56:01] Can I tell you what I hope the hidden treasure of Area Zero is? Or did we already talk about the the legendaries in Area Zero? No, we talked about the Blackstake Shrine ones.

[00:56:11] Because I was in a lot of Den battles this week and I saw a version of Suicune that looks like a velociraptor. Walking Wake. So fucking cool. We did see that we got spoiled on Bulbapedia about that. So you can just you encounter them in the raid battles.

[00:56:30] Someone had one. He just brought it into the. Oh, I was playing online. No, I imagine we'll get that in when we go back to Area Zero. Hopefully that'll be an option.

[00:56:39] That's got to be mine because it's it looked like a dinosaur and that I'm the old timey ones. Right? I don't know what mine is. I also heard that there there's some kind of a mystery gift I think that we can get still for this last part.

[00:56:51] We should look into that and bug catchers look into that. I love it. I think we need to do a mystery gift, but we're going to be wrapping it up. Yeah, we're wrapping it up. So any any other like waterfalls that you want to chase? Do that.

[00:57:03] Probably going to go rebattle the elite for. Oh, you need to do the Academy Ace tournament. Yeah, but now you'll be so over leveled. Won't be. I should go to school. Yeah, if you want to graduate, you probably need to go to school too.

[00:57:13] Now I decided I was finished. Let's be done with this episode. Yes, Joshua. Let's come back next week to finish off the game. And the podcast. And then that'll be that. That'll be that you can write and review the show on Apple Podcasts.

[00:57:28] You can follow the show everywhere that you follow podcasts overcast Spotify. You can follow us at XP SharePod on Instagram X, all those things. If you want to just keep up with us.

[00:57:40] Yeah, and you can also keep up with us and the rest of the community on our subreddit Reddit dot com slash our slash bug catchers. And you can throw us some gimme Google coins if you go to XP SharePod dot com and buy some merch.

[00:57:54] Yeah, I mean, I would prefer like USD money. American. Yeah, honestly, dollars. But the way inflation is going, I'll take gimme gold coins. Am I right? Got them. Yeah. All right. All right. Well, Joshua, but catchers of see for the conclusion, the DLC, the podcast. Goodbye.

[00:58:13] Smell you later.
